About the chef:
Since I was old enough to see the top of the kitchen counter, I have had a love for baking that was first inspired by my grandmother. Now, more than fifteen years later, I am a pastry chef and the owner of Cassandra's Custom Cakes.
A graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles, I began my career in film production in 2006 until a cancer scare with my father prompted my move to New York in order to be closer to my family. Thank goodness it turned out my father only had a benign cyst, which the doctors removed and he is alive and healthy today.
Soon after, I began a career in fashion, where my love for the kitchen continued. I often treated my colleagues to freshly baked cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. It was clear that I had a knack for satisfying everyone's sweet tooth. It wasn't long before I was being commissioned to bake cakes for all the office birthdays and special events. My fellow employees joked that I should be doing this for a living, but I took this career idea much more seriously. By New Year's 2008 I had made the decision to attend culinary school and start on the path to a serious career in baking.
In March of 2009 I graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and completed an apprentice at How Sweet It Is Pastry on the lower east side of Manhattan.
Currently I own and operate Cassandra's Custom Cakes in Dallas, TX and look forward to creating my next masterpiece for your special day!
